When R Kelly's trial starts on September 17, 2007 the alleged girl in the video (today a 23-year-old woman) and her parents are expected to testify that it's not her on the videotape. Even though her auntie, singer and former R Kelly protégée, Sparkle, the alleged victims’s best friend at the time, and several other relatives are expected to testify that it is her in the videotape. At a court hearing two summers ago, the former best friend testified it was indeed her friend in the video and that she remembers the time well, when both were 14, because both girls had the same styled haircut. Court papers also indicate both girls started hanging out with Kells when they were in the sixth grade. The girl's father played bass for R Kelly and the girl is listed as R's goddaughter in the liner notes of the TP2.com album. The trial is expected to last 3 to 4 weeks.
